How do Airbnb guests pay for upsells?

Upsells & paymentsUpdated
The short answer

Airbnb guests pay inside Airbnb, which is what Airbnb's terms require. The AI sends a link to Airbnb's Resolution Center for the guest's own reservation, with plain steps to complete the payment there.

In detail

The Airbnb steps

The guest opens the Resolution Center link, chooses Send money, then Extra services, enters the amount, writes the item in the note, for example late checkout, and presses Send. The guest replies once it is sent and your team confirms. When your team records the payment on the reservation folio in Guesty, TravelPal reads it back automatically, so a paid upsell completes itself instead of waiting for someone to notice.

Everyone else pays by card

Guests who booked on VRBO, Booking.com, or direct get a secure card checkout link instead. They pay by card and the reservation updates automatically as soon as the payment goes through, with nobody at a keyboard. Card payments run through your own Stripe account, connected in one click with Stripe Connect: your company stays the merchant of record, and TravelPal never holds a key that can move your money.

You choose the Airbnb policy

The Resolution Center is the default for Airbnb guests, and you can optionally let them pay by card too, either everywhere or only on the guest's stay page while chat stays on the Resolution Center. Wherever a link is involved, the AI relays it character for character, never shortening or rewriting it, translating only the sentence around it into the guest's language. If no payment route works, the AI does not improvise one; it tells the guest a person will follow up.

The revenue is yours either way: TravelPal charges a flat $25 per unit per month, with no commission on upsell sales.
