What does onboarding actually involve?

Setup & controlUpdated
The short answer

One form: you paste the API credentials from your own property management system and TravelPal does the rest. It validates them on the spot, subscribes to that system's events where the system allows it, and starts importing your listings in the background, with nothing else to configure.

In detail

Connecting your system

On Guesty, that means Settings, then Integrations, then API, and creating an Open API key, which is a client ID and secret. On Hostaway it is an account ID and an API key from Settings. Every system has its own short path, and the exact one for yours is on its own page in the list of systems. Paste the credentials into TravelPal: bad ones are rejected on the spot, and with good ones TravelPal subscribes to that system's reservation and message events itself wherever the system supports it. The listing import starts right away, and from then on everything flows automatically: listings become properties, every new reservation gets its own guest link, and cancellations revoke it.

Two required steps, two optional ones

The dashboard's getting-started guide has two required steps: add properties, which connecting your system does for you, and connect a first guest, since every guest gets a private concierge link for their stay, sendable on any channel. Two more are optional: train the concierge on your past guest conversations, which only ever starts on your click, and add your logo and brand color to every guest-facing page. Completion is read from your live account, not a checklist you maintain: connect your system and the step ticks itself.

Who does the work

You do, and it is deliberately small. The dashboard shows connection status, listing counts, and the last sync throughout, and onboarding is included in the price: $25 per unit per month, with no onboarding fee.
