TravelPal vs Hostaway AI
Hostaway's AI is real and included: AI Replies can auto-answer the topics you choose, at no add-on fee, inside the Hostaway PMS. The catch is the last part, because that is the only place it exists. TravelPal runs on Hostaway too, so the question is no longer which property management system you are on; it is which concierge you want on the one you already have.
What Hostaway AI is
Hostaway, a vacation rental PMS, ships AI Replies with an Auto-Reply mode: "once you're comfortable with the responses from AI Replies, you can turn on Auto-Reply so it automatically responds on your behalf for the topics of your choosing," with no add-on fee. Hostaway says it can automate up to 90 percent of guest communication. An AI CoHost surfaces what needs attention, and upsell workflows can trigger on guest sentiment. Payment features on the page cover reservation payments: scheduled collection and failed-payment retries.
Where TravelPal differs
TravelPal connects to Hostaway with the account ID and API key from your own dashboard, sells late checkout, early check-in, and mid-stay cleaning at your exact prices, paid in the conversation by card link or Airbnb's Resolution Center and written back to the reservation with your cleaning crew's notice window checked first, and it runs on 33 property management systems, so a move off Hostaway does not mean starting the concierge over.
Hostaway's AI Replies exists only inside Hostaway, and its payment features cover reservation billing, not upsells sold and paid in the guest conversation.
$25 per unit per month
Where Hostaway AI is ahead
An honest comparison starts with what the other side does well.
No add-on fee
AI Replies is included with Hostaway. If you already run Hostaway, its AI costs nothing extra, and nothing on this page changes that arithmetic: $25 per unit has to earn its place against free.
Topic-scoped autonomy
Auto-Reply answers only the topics you choose, a sensible control design, honestly done.
PMS-native breadth
Hostaway's AI sits on live PMS data with an operational CoHost across the whole account. TravelPal reads your system deeply but is one product, not a platform.
Reservation payment operations
Scheduled payment collection and failed-payment retries are built into the PMS. TravelPal's payments are about upsells, not reservation billing.

Silence is reported as silence. Where Hostaway AI’s materials do not describe something, the row says so instead of counting it against them.
Common questions
Can I use Hostaway AI with another property management system?
No. Hostaway's AI features are part of the Hostaway PMS, so they arrive with a Hostaway account and stay there. TravelPal works the other way around: it connects to 33 property management systems, Hostaway and Guesty among them, so the concierge is not a property of whichever system you happen to run this year.
We already run Hostaway. Why pay $25 per unit for an AI when ours is free?
For what the $25 buys on top of answering: late checkout, early check-in, and mid-stay cleaning sold at your exact prices, the guest paying inside the conversation, the new time written back onto the reservation, your cleaning crew's notice window checked before an hour is sold, and a guest guidebook for every stay. Hostaway's AI pages describe upsell workflow triggers rather than selling and collecting in the thread. One late checkout a month at $60 covers the difference on that unit twice over.
Hostaway says it automates up to 90 percent of communication. Is that more than TravelPal?
We cannot say, and we will not pretend to. TravelPal handles what it can answer from your own facts and holds the rest for your team, and it does not pitch an automation percentage at all. The 90 percent is Hostaway's own published claim about its product, and we quote it rather than judge it; we would rather show you, on your own units in a demo, what gets answered and what gets held.
We are choosing a PMS right now. What is the honest advice?
Choose the property management system on its own grounds: channel management, accounting, support, your team's workflow. The concierge is no longer part of that decision, because TravelPal runs on 33 systems including Hostaway, and it is the half of the stack you do not have to choose twice.
